Digital Dental Radiography
System (RVG) |
The MegaPixel Diagnostic System is a digital radiography
system that captures
dental X-Ray images in real-time, directly into a computer system. There is no need for
film. No hassle, no delay. Just faster procedures and beter images than you have ever seen
before.
With the MegaPixel Diagnostic System - known as MPDx for short - your X-Ray technician
will always know that the desired image has been captured. You'll have all the images and
all the detail you need, captured securely and conveniently in your patient's file. No
lost films, no foggy images. Just precise images that you can magnify, colorize, measure,
manipulate and print to ensure the most accurate diagnosis.
Your patients will appreciate the difference, too. Unlike sharp-edged film and bulky
holders that cut into gingival and buccal tissue, MPDx sensors fit comfortably inside the
mouth. In fact, MPDx sensors are the thinnest, most comfortable sensors on the market
today.
Advantages:
Superior Resolution: MPDx sensors produce images comprised of up to 1.85
million pixels. Our high-resolution sensors allow you to magnify areas far beyond what has
ever been possible with film.
Superior Dynamic Range: Compared to film, digital radiography provides
greater dynamic range: blacker blacks, whiter whites, and better definition of
intermediary gray tones.
Superior Signal-to-Noise Ratio: The MPDx system has a high signal-to-nose
ratio
(the
measure of the strength of the signal vs. electronic noise). An improved image is possible
because our sensors use a semiconductor substrate of very high quality with an electronic
design that amplifies the signal, while suppressing noise.
World's Thinnest Sensors: Thin Sensors
Designed for Comfort. The MegaPixel Diagnostic sensors are the thinnest direct sensors
available today. Compared to other sensors that are up to 8.9 mm thick, the MPDx sensors
measures a slim 3.2 mm. Unlike bulkier sensors, MPDx sensors can be easily placed, and are
much more comfortable than film. Their thin size is especially important in the mandibular
molar area where soft tissue must be displaced to acquire an image.
In addition,
the large active area of MPDx sensors provides a significant advantage over other devices
for dental direct imaging. It is also interesting to note that MPDx sensors are capable of
producing 11 to 22 line pairs, compared to 15 line pairs typically produced by film. Since
the unaided human eye can see only 9 line pairs, the increased resolution provided by MPDx
sensors becomes quite significant when viewing images on the computer.
MPDx sensors are available in three sizes that have an active area nominally the size of
#0, #1, and #2 film.
Size #0
(32 mm X 26 mm) |
Standard
Sensor |
Ideal for pediatric
dentistry. |
Size #1
(36 mm X 25 mm) |
Hi-Resolution
Sensor
1.25 million pixels |
Used for vertical
bite wings and perapical images. |
Size #2
(43 mm X 32 mm) |
Hi-Resolution
Sensor
1.85 million pixels |
The #2 sensor has an
active area commensurate with the highest resolution. Captures multiple posterior teeth
and makes a complete mouth series with the same number of x-rays you are now using. |
